Deep Diving into the Root Causes of Common Climber Injuries

Finger tweaks, pulley pain, and swollen joints are common issues climbers face — but they’re not always well understood.

Back for a second time, Deep Diving into the Root Causes of Common Climber Hand & Finger Injuries marks the start of our upcoming climber injury workshop series with Rid (@rid.climbphysiosg), our regular climber and practising physiotherapist.

Drawing from 15 years of climbing experience and his work in physiotherapy since 2018, Rid will break down how common hand and finger injuries happen in climbing, how different grip types affect injury risk, and what climbers can do to better manage and reduce these risks.

The session will also include a bonus segment on how to avoid pumping out on long routes, with more climbing-focused injury workshops to come in the near future.
